A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dr. Weber attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan where he had a successful collegiate running career and graduated with a degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish.
He became an All American 1500 meter runner during his time at Hope, and met his wife, who was a sprinter and hurdler for the women’s team. They have one daughter, and a dog named Lilly, who love running with them. Dr. Weber’s medical education and training sets him apart from other foot and ankle specialists in Northern Michigan.
Currently, Dr. Weber is the only podiatric surgeon in Northern Michigan to have completed a 1 year fellowship approved by The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. A fellowship is the highest level of training available to physicians and surgeons. After graduating from podiatric medical school in Iowa, Dr. Weber completed a 3 year surgical residency focused on all aspects of foot and ankle surgery at The Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University.
After residency, Dr. Weber was invited to pursue an additional year of advanced training at one of the most well-respected foot and ankle fellowships in the country at The Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio. During his fellowship year, Dr. Weber gained an advanced skill set in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle with a focus on total ankle replacement surgery, sports medicine injuries and arthroscopy, trauma surgery, and diabetic limb deformity correction.
“My wife and I have always wanted to live in Traverse City. We’ve been coming up here with our families since we were kids, and we started coming up more frequently to visit the local wineries when we started dating. We love the size of the town, the close-knit feel of the TC community, and all of the outdoor activities Northern Michigan has to offer. When I found out about the opportunity to practice medicine here, I was overjoyed and honored to take over the practice from two very talented and well-respected physicians who have provided medical care to the Northern Michigan community for nearly 4 decades.”
A message from Dr. Weber:
“One of the most important qualities I can offer to my patients is being a good listener. Every patient has a problem and expectations that are unique. My goal with every patient is to help them fully understand their condition and treatment options, and work together as a team to help them meet their expectations and improve their quality of life.”
